Testimony
My spiritual journey started when I hit my late 20s. I was working in corporate America, was in an unsatisfying marriage, and was very disillusioned with my adult life. I was drinking my life away every weekend, planning for my next party, NOT MY LIFE.!
At about twenty-nine, I got introduced to self-improvement and positive thinking, I really got excited! I heard you could have fun and make a living with your God-given gifts and abilities, so I jumped in. I went from agnostic to believing in God – but this Jesus thing – I was still very skeptical – which lead me into new age along with self-improvement, all the while reading my Bible as well.
In ’97 I left my life in Boston to explore what God had for me in NYC; originally voice- overs, dabbled in print modeling and singing, all the while doing my art just for fun on side. I read and wrote furiously for two years, struggling to make a living. I finally found myself jumping for joy & the same time distraught with tears…I found God to be a real living being, talking to me and working with me and at the same time I got a deep revelation of the power of words. But, I also was convinced we were making it “ALL UP.” As I would journal, a lot of what I was putting on paper was coming to fruition in about three months – the good, the bad, and the ugly.
So off I jumped again in ’99, giving away virtually everything! I started to travel and profess the things I wanted to come to pass, believing infallibly that everything I said and thought would come to pass sooner rather than later.
I ended up maxing out all my credit cards and not being able to pay my hotel bill, so I spent a week or two in the Florida county jail. I bailed myself out and paid my bill…and started over yet again. I traveled back to New Jersey and lived with my family.
By then I had been to enough churches to convince me that it WAS all about Jesus, but I just couldn’t find where I fit. I finally got invited to a ‘born again’ Christian Church in NJ where I had been living with my sister and it was there that I raised my hand for Christ in response to an altar call.
In 2000, I quite literally ‘ran into’ this brush pen and started drawing – everything I drew came out words and phrases because of my deep revelation of the power of words. This is what sparked my specific style of art; so hence the birth of my Art Ministry. I felt as though people who looked at my art work long enough and the biblical truths that were contained there just might be healed – I called it my SILENT ART MINISTRY.
As a born again Christian, I help people experience the Word of God through art. My prayer is that by spending time creatively over Scripture it might become a mediation, therefore, opening people up to the real, true, loving, living God.
I currently own and operate a company called ‘COLORME’ Art Spa. I teach my style of art and help people explore their own inner artist to experience a more joyous fuller purpose filled life. Using my art, people/organizations have been able to raise money and have fun at the same time give an interesting twist to any party or event.
I now live in Scottsdale, AZ with my loving husband and 2 wonderful children.
